You can combine your city trip to Krakow with an impressive tour to Auschwitz Birkenau, the largest concentration and extermination camp during World War II. In about 6-7 hours you will visit the Main Camp (Auschwitz) including the permanent exhibition and original buildings such as the barracks and gas chambers. The most important original objects at Birkenau will also be visited. After the tour you will be brought back to your pick-up point in Krakow.
During a 4 hour tour you will visit the historic Salt Mines in Wieliczka, which is only 20 minutes from Krakow. The mines are lying on nine levels and stretch for the total of 300 kilometres. Since 1978 the Salt Mines are on the World Heritage List of UNESCO. During the tour you will be guided by an former mineworker who can tell you everything about the mines. The Salt Mines are not available for people to visit without a professional guide. Pick-up and return are included.
Walking the Royal Route will show you all the highlights of Krakow’s Old Town. This 4 hour walk will begin at St. Florian’s Church in the northern part of the Medieval Old Town and will be guided by a professional tour guide. This tour will lead you through the following sights: The Wawel Hill, Royal Castle, The Cathedral, Old town, Jagiellonian University district, Planty Park, Main Market Square and St. Mary’s Basilica. Your guide can tell you all about Poland’s history, culture and architecture.
The Schindlers List tour is a 3 hour walk around the former Jewish district of Kazimierz. This tour will tell you the story of Oscar Schindler, which you may know from Steven Spielbergs Oscar winning film. Before World War II the Jewish culture flourished in Kazimierz, but nowadays it’s known as the artistic centre of Krakow. During the tour you will be guided by a professional English speaking tour guide who can give you a lot of information about the Jewish culture in Krakow. You will visit the district of Podgórze and the area around Schindler’s factory
